DESCRIPTION:Celebrate 150th Birthday of Littleton’s Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Depot \nHistoric Littleton\, Inc. and the City of Littleton will celebrate the 150th birthday of the Denver and Rio Grande (D & RG ) Railroad depot located at 5790 S. Prince St. on Saturday May 16 at 2:00 p.m. \nThe D & RG Railroad was the first railroad to provide rail service to Littleton arriving in 1871. Fours years later\, in 1875\, the depot was built using rhyolite stone quarried from Castle Rock. The depot was designated as a Littleton landmark over 50 years ago.\nHistoric Littleton will give a presentation on Littleton’s early days and how the railroad helped Littleton grow.
