Downtown Littleton Glows with Hallmark Holiday Magic

Downtown Littleton is leaning all the way into the holidays and transforming Main Street into a Hallmark-style backdrop packed with lights, live evergreens, and shop-local incentives designed to keep residents close to home for their seasonal spending.

The Littleton Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is anchoring the 2025 season with its Sparkle & Stroll campaign, the return of the Holiday Tree Program, and a full slate of weekend experiences featuring Victorian carolers and beyond.

“Downtown Littleton comes alive during the holidays in a way that feels both nostalgic and uniquely our own,” said Jenny Starkey, executive director of the LDDA.

Fresh off Littleton’s Candlelight Walk on Nov. 28, Main Street is now fully lit for the season, with storefronts, trees, and decor creating a nostalgic small-town atmosphere for shoppers and visitors.

The LDDA describes the holidays downtown as a time “when the community’s spirit really shows,” pointing to everything from Santa sightings and live carolers to a push for residents to support the independent businesses that define the district’s character.

At the center of this year’s effort is Sparkle & Stroll, a shop-local campaign that runs through the New Year and encourages people to wander downtown, explore more than 75 participating businesses — including shops, services, and restaurants — and collect stamps on a Sparkle Card. Every stamp earns an entry into gift card drawings, and once shoppers hit 10 stamps, they unlock a chance at a $500 grand prize, turning routine errands and gift-buying into a season-long scavenger hunt.

“We’re proud to create opportunities that celebrate our spirit while supporting the small businesses that make downtown so special,” Starkey said.

The LDDA frames the program as a way to reward loyal customers while channeling holiday spending directly into the locally owned shops, restaurants, and services that line Main Street.

For a second year, the Holiday Tree Program has brought live, potted evergreen trees back to Main Street, sponsored by local businesses and community members.

The trees are placed and lit along the stretch from Bega Park to The Melting Pot, adding a warm, continuous glow that complements existing lights and decorations. Once the season wraps, the LDDA plans to have the trees replanted around the city to bolster Littleton’s urban tree canopy, giving the program an environmental benefit that lasts long after the decorations come down.

To keep the energy going, Santa on Main Street and The Original Dickens Carolers will appear on weekends now through Dec. 21, offering families photo opportunities and live Victorian carols from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. A list of participating in Sparkle & Stroll and a full calendar, business list, and campaign details can be found at downtownlittleton.org and littletondda.org.
