A New Chapter for Coffee in Downtown Littleton

There’s something about coffee shops that makes a town feel like home — the early-morning ritual, familiar faces behind the counter, or neighbors swapping stories over warm mugs. Downtown Littleton has long cherished its coffee culture, and it’s growing in an exciting way.

Two beloved Colorado brands, DIRT Coffee and Hearth, have opened new homes right here in our historic district, deepening our community’s connection to great coffee while reflecting the values that make Downtown Littleton special: belonging, creativity, and a spirit of looking out for one another.

DIRT Coffee: A Bigger Home with a Bigger Mission

On October 17, DIRT Coffee officially opened the doors of its new space at 2506 W. Alamo Avenue, just a short walk from its previous location on Rapp Street. The move is much more than a change of address, however — it’s a bold expansion of DIRT’s mission to uplift neurodivergent individuals through meaningful employment.

As an organization whose name stands for Divergent Inclusive Representation Transforms, DIRT has long woven purpose into every cup. Their new two-story home, built in 1901, now features Colorado’s first-ever drop-in workforce development center tailored specifically for neurodivergent talent. Complete with accessible technology, a Comcast Lift Zone computer lab, and a fully equipped upstairs workspace, it’s a place designed to foster confidence, dignity, and opportunity.

Their new coffee bar showcases thoughtful investments as well — from a La Marzocco espresso machine with reverse osmosis filtration to a charming front porch and gas-lit outdoor fireplace. Even the back of house was designed with accessibility in mind.

As DIRT shared:

“Littleton has always felt like home. The community here bought more than a cup of coffee, they helped us build DIRT. Our growth reflects the spirit of this town: intentional, kind, and rooted in community. Expanding here allows us to welcome more neurodivergent individuals into meaningful work while giving back to the neighbors and local businesses who have always supported us.”
— Brooke Shellhorn, Development Manager

With new tools, more space, and a strengthened mission, DIRT Coffee isn’t just opening a new store — it’s opening new doors for the people who make Littleton extraordinary.

Hearth: Familiar Faces, Freshly Baked Bread, and a New Presence on Curtice

Just a few blocks away, another exciting addition is taking root. Hearth, known throughout Denver for its warm bakery, house-roasted coffee, and signature glass-jar to-go drinks, has opened a new location at 5610 S. Curtice Street — their first outside the city.

Owner, Matt Quinlisk, shared, “This new Littleton home will feature the same Tablón coffee and fresh-baked breads their Denver guests love, now coming to life in a full kitchen serving breakfast and lunch daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an expanded menu teased for the months ahead. Hearth continues to operate three popular cafés in Denver’s Five Points, City Park West, and West Highland neighborhoods, bringing a loyal following and well-loved style to our newest community here in Littleton.

With its warm, modern bakery vibe and commitment to sustainability — including their recognizable glass-jar drink program — Hearth brings an inviting new space for neighbors to gather, share a meal, and feel right at home in Downtown Littleton.

A Coffee Community with Deep Roots

While DIRT and Hearth bring new energy to our streets, Downtown Littleton’s coffee story didn’t start here — and it certainly doesn’t end here. Two other community pillars continue to shape our rich local coffee scene:

Mango Tree Coffee

Inspired by a dream that began beneath an actual mango tree in Kenya, Mango Tree Coffee channels every cup toward something bigger. They donate 100% of their proceeds to food and education projects combating extreme childhood poverty. Their coffee is responsibly sourced, thoughtfully roasted, and packed with purpose. When you drink Mango Tree, you’re lifting up children and communities around the world — one cup at a time.

The Chocolate Therapist

Though known for its artisanal chocolate and founder Julie Nygard’s nutrition-focused approach to clean eating, The Chocolate Therapist has also become one of Downtown Littleton’s most beloved places for gourmet espresso drinks and handcrafted coffee. Their café blends education, flavor, offering a warm and cozy setting where coffee lovers can indulge in thoughtfully sourced brews alongside their famous chocolate creations.

Whether you’re stopping in for a morning latte, meeting a friend over lunch, or supporting businesses that make a positive impact, there’s always a welcoming place for you in Downtown Littleton.
