South Denver Suburbs See Boom in Restaurant Openings

Denver’s Mile High Magazine, 5280, recently reported on Why So Many Restaurants Are Opening in the South Denver Suburbs. Among the reasons mentioned was an increase in the demand for diners in Highlands Ranch, Centennial, and Littleton.

Denver Beer Co.’s expansion is highlighted throughout the article citing the age and life transitions of their core customers. Denver Beer Co.’s CEO, Robert MacEachern said, “When Denver Beer Co. was started over a decade ago, a lot of our core customers were in their 30s and 20s and had an easier life. Then 10 to 12 years later, life changes, you have kids, and you move out to the suburbs. So I think it tracks with our current customers, and why we opened our newest taproom all the way down in downtown Littleton.”

In addition to Denver Beer Co., other local eateries that have expanded into Littleton include Cencalli Taqueria, Grande Station, and Cherry Cricket.

The increase in demand of diners is just one piece of the puzzle. The article cites additional reasons why restaurant owners are expanding into suburbs like Littleton including the community’s support for local restaurants, Littleton’s economic development department’s efforts to attract eateries, property owners’ commitment to find the right fit for vacant spaces, municipal support, and the camaraderie amongst restaurateurs.

It takes a village, and Downtown Littleton has fostered an amazing environment for local eateries to thrive.
